Ashey first became interested in aeronautics and technology after her 8th grade science teacher arranged for her to take a ride in a single engine plane. She is a part of NASA’s OLC (Online Learning Community), and would love to learn how to fly her own plane.
She has also been involved in First Lego League Robotics. Her team won the regional Champion’s Award and State’s First Place Gracious Professionalism award this year. As a freshman, Ashley enjoys taking Drafting classes and using CAD (Computer Aided Design). She attended several camps for girls in technology, including Girls Get IT! (Innovative Technology) and she helps promote STEM with various outreach programs..
Future: Ashley plans on attending a university to become an aeronautical engineer
Interesting Fact: She is a three sport athlete, and loves working with younger children as a Program Aide through Girl Scouts.
