THE 2012 CONFERENCE
The first annual Northwest Regional Women in Computing Conference (NWrWIC), was held April 14, 2012 at the Double Tree Hotel in Portland Oregon. This event was hosted by the tech-oriented women from Oregon and Washington colleges and universities, and the NCWIT Northwest Regional Aspirations Award Commitee. Sponsoring provided by Oregon CSTA, NCWIT, ABI, NSF, OUSIA, Lewis and Clark, and Via West. The conference highlighted the merging of software engineering and the sciences, with a focus on medicine and computational thinking. The conference also allowed students from various grade levels, high school to graduate school, the opportunity to connect to industry and academic professionals within the Pacific Northwest.
